Don’t Use UV Filters

Kirk Tuck again, writing about UV filters:

Stop.  Take the filters off the lenses.  Shoot like a real man.  Or a real woman.  And if your lens is destroyed then make sure you have a good story to go along with the loss.  That’s the way it’s done.

I don’t use a UV filter.  Never have.  I use a circular polarizer when doing landscape photography or for a cloud time lapse, but that’s about it.  The one lens I did break wouldn’t have been saved by a UV filter.
