I attended the Pearl River, NY St. Patrick’s Day parade on Sunday. It’s a big one, with lots of photo opportunities. I suspect you’ll be seeing a week of pictures here from the event, along with all of the lessons learned and inevitable shortcomings. But let’s start things off on a positive note. This guy is pretty cool:
Not only is he a World War II vet, but he was in the Battle for Iwo Jima. That makes him awesome. 70 years later, he’s still alive and kicking, driving down the parade route and getting rousing cheers from the crowds.
Also, he’s got a great face for photography and my pics of him came out better than just about anything else I shot at the parade that day.
