Swinging Mel Gibbons

I love visiting zoos.  I’m not a photographic purist, so it doesn’t bother me to get my animal shots in there.  The reality of it all is that I’m not going to be going on a safari anytime soon.  I’m not a world traveler. And my kid likes the zoo. The challenges of the zoo, of course, are the other people there, watching over my own daughter, and the fences.  You can minimize the fencing with a wide open aperture, though.  This pic, as I recall, was shot through a fine netting, which didn’t need that low an aperture to make disappear.

Found out a few weeks later, this guy made the news for his timely name: Mel Gibbons.
