One thing I plan on doing in this blog is porting over and updating some of my writings on photography from my other blog, VariousAndSundry.com.
Let’s start today with this post, from three years ago today. Happy Anniversary to me and Canon. Looking back, I guess I hadn’t developed my eye for the white balance sliders in Lightroom 1 yet.
Finally pulled the trigger:
- Canon XTi (i.e. 400D)
- The Nifty Fifty – 50mm f/1.8 lens
- Canon EF 28-135mm IS USM lens (refurbished via Adorama)
- Not pictured: Kingston 15-in-1 card reader (to read both Compact Flash for the dSLR and Sony memory sticks for my old camera)
Don’t look at this pic too closely. I shot it with the 50mm, too high an ISO, not lit brightly enough, and with an aperture that needed to be closed a little more. Maybe a tripod. Ack, screw it. It’s the web. Who’s ever going to look that closely?
