One of the most popular pictures at the previous version of this blog is this one.
I was lucky enough to get to a Yankees game on July 29, 2008, at the old Yankee Stadium. We had ridiculously cool seats, about a dozen rows or so up from the field, just behind third base. I read the security guidelines carefully before heading out. They allowed lenses in of less than 6 inches. Thankfully, my Canon 70-300 just barely fit that. As I recall, security asked me to turn the camera on for whatever reason, but that was it. (Making sure the battery compartment wasn’t filled with something bad?)
This picture was taken at 8:40 p.m. Even with the field lights, things got pretty dark pretty quickly and my old Canon XTi couldn’t handle too many more pictures past this one. In fact, my last pictures on the night were shot about 12 minutes later. Today, with the 60D, I’m sure I should have shot all night long with that camera.
